75th Independence Day & Krishna Janmashtami

With the Blessings of our Beloved Lord Sai Krishna, Janmashtami Special event went on very well, with wonderful support from all our members, residents of Magilam Apartment.
Morning from 9 to 12, we had a colourful combined program celebrating both the festivals of last week, Independence day and Krishna janmashtami at the community hall at Magilam Apartments, a gated community in Keelkatalai locality.
The strength gathered was about 25- 30 children and 20 adults from both keelkatalai Samithi and Magilam Apartments.
The program began with an invocation to Lord Ganesha through Veda chanting and Sai bhajans by Mahilas, followed by a variety of programs like Shloka chanting, devotional singing, Krishna stotram chanting, violin, solo and group dance, fancy dress,short speech, geetha chanting , and uriadi in the open. Boys were decked as Krishna and girls were dressed as Gopikas/Radha.
Towards the end, the office bearers of the Samithi spoke about the importance of Bala Vikas to the new parents and children gathered there. It ended with Mangala aarathi to Swami and tamboolam distribution to all the ladies, gifts to all the children and prasadam to everyone gathered there. It was a wonderful celebration.
