Adivelli
Kuthuvilakku pooja

Pranams at thy lotus feet of  Saimaa!

Aadi month(July 16th – August 16th) is the 4th month of the Tamil Calendar. The next six months from Aadi to Margazhi is the Dakshinayana punyakalam. It marks the beginning of the night of Devas. Traditionally, Aadi month will welcome all Hindu festivals. In Tamil, there is a phrase “ஆடிமாதம் பண்டிகைகளை அழைச்சிண்டு வரும்”.

This month is special for Goddess Shakthi.

People worship and celebrate Goddess Shakthi and her different forms (avatars) during this month to get her blessings for their wealth and happiness.

Aadi Velli refers to the divine Fridays that occur during the Tamil month of Aadi. There are totally four Fridays in the month of Aadi, all of which are sacred days to unite with the Goddess power or the divine feminine Shakti. During the Fridays, people worship Goddess Shakthi and her avatars in different ways as per their customs by performing Mavilakku Maavu, Vilaku Poojai, Varalakshmi Vratham, etc., .

Experiences shared by a few of our Participants.

Jai Sairam!
I am so happy to share the wonderful experience of today’s Kuthuvilakku Pooja organised by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, Kilkattalai. Saiappa had blessed me and my mother to participate in this pooja. The Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, Kilkattalai has designed, addressed and executed this event in a very meticulous way. Right from the beginning, the idea, procedures and plan of action were so clear.

Many participants in and out of India have participated in this occasion. This event happened in a grand way. Started with slokams followed by songs, ashtothram, bhajans, etc. The agenda was so methodical. Even we had a mock testing to avoid unnecessary interruptions during the program. The items required for the pooja and the registration link to join in this event were shared well in advance.

It’s a wonderful opportunity for me and my mother. I should thank my colleague Mr. Arulmani, because of whom I am in this page. I am from Chrompet and have joined this event and a member in KKT 95 Sai Bhajan group. Many thanks to him! The Convenor is so efficient and orderly in his ways of execution which made this event a great success and happened in a grand way. His thought process is appreciable.
Praying Saiappa to participate in more and more events like this.

Pranams to Sai!
